Stepping out of my comfort zone

In 2019 I did a lot of things that was way outside of my comfort zone, and it felt great. I’ve shared selfies, talked about my weight (with numbers) and stepped away from the always black clothes and started wearing my beloved pink.

So for 2020 I wanna continue the trend.

I wanna do what makes me happy, no matter what the little voice inside my head might tell me, and I wanna challenge myself to do new things.

I think it’s important to push ourselves sometimes. Step away from what is comfortable, so we get a chance to grow as people.

I have changed so much as a person since my divorce in 2015 and I want to reflect that in my clothes, my looks and the things I do.

One of the big things I want to do this year is to have photos taken. I hate having my picture taken, but in the name of pushing out of my comfort zone I’m gonna do it.

It was actually supposed to happen in December, and my boyfriend brought his camera equipment and everything. But bad weather, rain and grey days put a stop to it.

But it is gonna happen, and while I’m super shy and uncomfortable about it, I’m also weirdly excited to get to do it.

Have you done anything outside your comfort zone in 2019? Or are you planning on doing it in 2020? Let me know in the comments 🙂

Love, Tea

  1. As an introvert, there are times when I often stay in my comfort zones, however when I do, it also makes me feel great! I hope you will continue to push yourself – but not too much I hope!

  2. It’s so strange to read this because yes, 2019 was when I pushed myself out of my comfort zone with my first fashion-inspired post. It was also where I talked about growing up and owning my achievements. I was so scared to hit that publish button but in fact it’s been my most popular post to date. So the moral is, get out of that comfort zone more often! Good luck in 2020, I look forward to seeing what you achieve too 🙂 x

  4. I’ve well and truly stepped outside of my comfort zone this year already. I’ve been more open and honest with my blog content than ever before and I’ve been getting in front on the camera instead of hiding behind. 2020 is all about self confidence and growth!

  6. I think it’s so important for personal growth to push ourselves outside of our comfort zones. It’s way too easy to stay there or keep saying tomorrow will be the day so well done for pushing yourself last year and entering 2020 with the same attitude x

  7. This is such an inspiring post! I could completely relate with having all black fashion. That takes a lot of guts and I celebrate you in changing that just one comfort but multiple comfort’s! I stepped out of my comfort zone by starting a blog. I have ideas and thoughts to share but I’m usually very private. Blogging is so much more personal than I ever imagined. I am definitely out of my comfort zone and am so glad I’m meeting so many people.

  8. On December 3rd, 2019 I published my blog. For over 5 years I have been writing it, but have been too scared to share or make any of my content public. My goal for 2020 is to keep writing and keep sharing in the hopes that by the end of the year I will describe writing with an audience as being in my comfort zone!

  10. This is so great! when i was at my happiest weight I was all about the pictures, didn’t mind who snapped me or from what position but now I hate it!

  11. Thank you for sharing this. I think there comes a time when we all want to just step out of our comfort zone and do what transforms us inside out. I have always loved writing, but never got a chance. But 2019 I stepped out of my comfort zone to start my blog. And the more I am doing it, the happier I am. 2020 is what I am looking forward to making it more structured!!

  12. Go you for stepping out of your comfort zone. I definitely agree that it’s something to push yourself to do. I’ve been trying to do this too recently starting with facing my fears. I’ve posted a couple of blogs about it too. 😊
