(Please keep in mind, that I’m not a doctor or health expert. This is simply what works for me. I recommend talking to your doctor before starting a weightloss journey)
Greens and fruit
I eat lots of greens. Broccoli, couliflower, salads, tomatoes, cucumbers, cabbage, kale, and so on. It’s absolutely delicious and I bring a salad for lunch for work and have more greens for dinner. I have a piece of fruit most days in the afternoon at work. It’s a nice little pick me up when the nergy runs a bit low the last couple of hours of work.
Water
I’m really trying to up my water intake. It’s so good for your body and I’m terrible at drinking enough. But I’m getting there so I’m happy with it.
Diet shakes and fiber
I am not good at doing breakfast, but I also know if I don’t do anything I get all tired and grumpy before lunch. So I’ve started drinking a diet shake (chocolate is my favorite) every morning. An because I don’t eat bread or beans I’m adding some extra fiber to my shake in the morning to keep my gut healthy.
Healthy fats
The body need fats to stay healthy, but not all fats are born equal. I try to keep to the good fats. This includes nuts, avocado and some oils. I like to use a bit of olive oil on my salads and use it while cooking too.
Meat and eggs
Now, I’m trying to keep my meat intake low this year, but I still eat it at least three times a week. It’s a good protein source and it fills up nicely. I try to keep away from the fattest things and eat a lot of chicken. I also eat eggs a few times a week. It’s a nice addition to a salad or as a snack if I’m feeling like I’m gonna die from hunger.
Move
Now if you cut enough calories from your diet you can sit on your ass and still lose weight. But, it isn’t especially healthy. So I try to get moving. Walking is a great way to get some exercise, and I do some work outs and yoga at home (or trying to anyway). And for me it’s not just about burning calories, but about firming up and help things stay in place, so to speak (no one wants a sagging bottom)
Stay positive and keep your eyes on the goal
You didn’t put on all this weight by eating two bad meals, and you won’t lose it all by having two good ones. If you really wanna lose weight it’s all about keeping at it, and don’t let a single mistake ruin the whole day.
