Part 6

Reaper

The fact that she was stuck at the clubhouse was a problem, a big fucking problem. She sipped her coffee and looked around the common room, trying to distract herself. She had seen her share of clubhouses when she was younger, and this one was one of the more homely ones she had been in. She was curled up on one of the big couches at one end of the room. She had eyed it with suspicion, but Wolf had promised it was clean. The middle of the room held two pool tables, and the other end held the bar. Six four-man tables stood against the wall with windows. It was a place where the brothers could meet, party, and be together.

Right now, though, it was just her and Mouse. The rest of the brothers were gathered in the kitchen, from which she had been banned as soon as they started to arrive. She wondered what Phantom was telling them. He hadn’t looked happy about the fact that she was there. In fact, he looked about as comfortable as she felt. She turned on the sofa and sipped her coffee again while looking around. The windows had bars covering them, and the lock on the outside door needed a code and a key to open. She could pick the lock, but without the code, she was fucked. The room had four other doors. One led to the hallway that would lead her to the kitchen and the stairs to the basement. She had spotted other closed doors down the hallway, and at the other end was the entrance she had been taken through when she first entered. The door behind the bar stood open and led to some kind of storage room. The door beside the one to the hallway was closed but had no lock or keypad. The last one had. So far, their security seemed air-tight. Bars over every window, solid doors, double combination locks. She could make it out, but not as long as she didn’t have her tools and was being watched all the time. She rubbed her head and sighed. She might not want to be at the club, but at least she couldn’t complain about the view. Phantom and Wolf were big. Both over six feet, and both heavily muscled. But where Phantom was cut and hard ridges with short hair and a neatly trimmed beard, Wolf was bulky with shaggy hair and a big beard. And she had no problem imagining them in her bed. Both of them, together. Hell, her brain had no problem going to the fantasy of seeing one fuck the other while she watched. Heat pooled low in her body at the idea, and she snorted at herself. Yeah, because that would so happen. Bikers were mostly a homophobic bunch of idiots, and the Sons of War were no different. She rolled her eyes at herself and turned back to her book.

The clicking of claws on the floor drew her attention, and she looked up in time to see a massive dark grey wolf step into the room. The wolf growled at Mouse as it passed him. She liked it already.

“Hey there, pretty girl,” she said, and the wolf stopped and scented the air before focusing on her.

“Don’t. She doesn’t like strangers. Well, actually, she doesn’t like anyone but Wolf. She tolerates Phantom, but Wolf has had her since she was a cub.

“Oh, you’ll like me, won’t you, girl,” she cooed and grabbed a cookie from the plate in front of her. She tossed the cookie, and the wolf snapped it from the air.

“What’s her name?”

“Pup.”

“He named his wolf Pup?” She asked and tossed the wolf another cookie.

“He found her when she was just a pup, and I don’t think he planned on keeping her. So he kind of just called her Pup. Now that’s the only name she answers to.”

“Well, nice to meet you, Pup.” She held out a cookie and let it fall to the floor. The wolf looked at it, then her, and then the cookie again, before it walked over and ate it. Reaper held out another cookie, and when Pup stepped closer to eat it, she carefully extended her other hand. Pup took the cookie before sniffing her hand and licking it.

“Awww, aren’t you a sweetie?” She padded the couch, and with a quick look at Mouse, the wolf jumped onto the sofa and flopped down beside her, placing its head on her thighs.

“I’ll be damned. Seems like Pup finally found someone to like.”

“She probably just thought all your asses stink of man and wanted someone nice to cuddle with.”

“Wolf is gonna flip when he sees her on the couch, though. He’s spent ages teaching her to stay off them.”

“Too bad for him,” she said and scratched the wolf behind the ear. A happy little hum came from the wolf before she closed her eyes. Reaper smiled and picked up her book. She needed to come up with a way to get out of there.

Three pages later, she felt herself drop off, and she fought to keep her eyes open. She looked up at Mouse with a scowl. He had handed her two pills for the pain, as he said. It had looked like a couple of regular pain pills, but now she wasn’t so sure. Oh fuck it, did they drug her? She fought to keep awake, but her body felt heavy, and with the warmth from Pup, she slipped into sleep.
