There are less than three weeks until A Tale of Betrayal and Sins comes out, which feels so unreal. This book has been living in my head for so long, so knowing I’ll be sharing it with you all soon feels incredible.
With that in mind, I wanted to share a few of my favorite snippets from the book.
He crouched down in front of him and cupped his cheek. “She cares.”
Kill tried to pull away from him, his face twisting into anger and despair. “I broke her heart for you, and you betrayed me.”
Wrath tightened his grip on Kill. “I did what I had to do to save my family.” He forced Kill to look at him. “She cares. Even after what happened, she cares.” He could give him that much. A little bit of hope, even if it was hope with no happy ever after. “She cares, and your screams will prove it.”
(Anyone else love it when one of the MMCs and the FMC are both morally twisted, but soft for the trauma riddled submissive MMC? )
Wrath grabbed her chin, tilting her head so he could meet her eyes. “You are fucking twisted.” He leaned in closer, his lips grazing her cheek, before stopping by her ear. “And you’re all mine. I’m not letting you go, Twisted. I know your dreams. I know the words you whisper to yourself in the dark. But there will be no running. There will be no freedom. There will never be a time when you are free.”
(Wrath is not afraid to claim what is his… but he might regret this one a little bit)
She had intrigued him from the moment he first saw her, and those feelings hadn’t gone away. Every taunt she threw in his face. Every act of rebellion, defiance, drew him in like a moth to a flame. It didn’t matter that it would burn his wings. That he would be forced to crawl in the mud for the rest of his life. He wanted her. No. He needed her. And now he had put his mark on her.
(Burn, baby, burn – and we love a morally grey man who isn’t afraid to get on his knees)
“Someone better be dead,” she growled, glaring at Raoul, who paled a little and looked down at the floor.
“Someone left a message for you,” Raoul said to the floor.
“A message that couldn’t wait?”
“It came with a body.”
(A necromancer’s way of saying sorry isn’t always conventional)
